Gordon Cotton was born into a family of good cooks, primarily his mother, grandmother, and aunt, and his sister has continued the tradition.
“My grandmother’s Sunday morning specialty was spoon bread, just soaked in butter. I love Mother’s tomato gravy, over hot biscuits, and her Thanksgiving salad. My sister Marguerite Jean excels at many dishes, but my favorites are her creamed corn – and for a sweet tooth – her orange candy,” Cotton said. “And there’s Aunt Malena’s vanilla ice cream…”
